Clash of Spells is a fast-paced multiplayer game for VR. Players engage in ruthless battles, where they have to cast and dodge elemental spells to destroy the enemy and survive.

In each multiplayer battle, players are divided in two teams, and each team aims to destroy the other team. Players can attack using a variety of elemental spells, which can also be combined to form even more powerful ones. As a defence, players can either choose to dodge spells cast by enemies, or can raise an energy shield than can provide temporary protection. Each player controls a platform and can teleport themselves onto close-by platforms using the teleport spell.

Clash of Spells is a skill-based game where players need to use their aim and reflexes to beat other players. Despite being a competitive game, Clash of Spells also encourages team play, as players can heal other team members and coordinate their attack to deal more damage to the enemy team.

Since the focus of this game is multiplayer, a lot of work was put into optimizing the network performance. Clash of Spells will be backed by dedicated servers in different locations to ensure low latency. The game also employs lag compensation techniques to minimize the effect of latency during gameplay.

Spell Casting
Players can use a variety of spells. There are five elements that can be used to attack your enemy: fire, water, rock, electricity and frost. Fire and water can be combined to form steam, fire and rock can be combined to form magma, finally, frost and water can be combined to form ice. Each spell deals a different amount of damage and moves at a different speed. Additionally, water and all combination spells explode on impact and deal area damage. Frost and ice cause a 3-second freeze effect on the target, during which they cannot use magic. Water and steam wet the enemy, which makes them more vulnerable to electricity. Fire and magma cause a burning effect on the target, which deals additional damage.

There are also additional spells: the shield spell can be used to generate a temporary protection barrier; the teleport spell allows players to teleport onto close-by platforms; the health spell allows players to heal themselves and other players.

Every game level contains predefined spaces, or platforms, that can only be controlled by one player at a time. Locomotion in VR is solved by allowing players to teleport onto close-by platforms using the teleport spell (casting spells always costs mana, which is a limited resource).
