Transcend is inspired by a mixture of Ghibli Studio's work and James Cameron's "Avatar". In this beautiful 2D world, you will live the story of a "Spirit Warrior", who is on a quest to become the god of warriors. To do so, you will transcend time and worlds to prove yourself among the galaxies' greatest warriors. You will learn to live like one of them, you will train with them, learn their strengths and weaknesses, and ultimately... you will challenge them. Every decision you make in Transcend will be 'judged' and will have an evolving effect on the game-play and story.
Although one could argue that the story in Transcend is its main feature, the combat is not lacking behind... Transcend's combat is unique in that it promises to make every battle and every encounter with an enemy, a meaningful one. This is done with the intentions of steering away from your typical grind-fest. In addition, all enemies were programmed as their own boss with limited patterns; this means they simply react in the moment, as you would. Every move, every decision and every ability you use while in combat, will determine what they do. This isn't your typical "hack-n-slash", and while it isn't as intense as a "Dark Souls", you can rest assured that any given enemy can and will kill you. Combine that with very raw, graphically intense animations and you are in for a refreshing 2D experience.
Transcend is composed of a series of chapters, like a book or TV series. Each chapter will be released as soon as it is ready and polished. The story in the series is unique and should be a fun, new experience for everyone. The game will be available at a base price and every following chapter will be free of charge.
This is a single-player, solo project by indie developer Ynor.
