In Rotatorix you will have to move through a tunnel while avoiding the holes in it. Gravity will try to pull you out of the tunnel no matter where you are, so you can end up going upside down. You can acomplish this in first person mode, third person mode or chase camera. Various terrain generation algorithms create chalenging obstacles.

The feeling this game tries to create is that you are actualy moving inside a pipe with holes, or sometimes even platforms because most of the pipe is missing, but the pipe can be rotated. You can stop or slow down, but not for too long, or you can sprint to make your jumps longer. This means you can move to the right, by looking to the right like in a shooter game, or to the left, you can jump and you can move/stop/sprint while in the air to land exactly where you want.

Another play mode is to have the camera in a fixed position and move the player inside the pipe. This will prove very difficult because when going upside down the movement will no longer feel natural, moving the player to the left will show as moving to the right on the screen. Coupled with jumping at the right time and even more with choosing a landing spot makes this mode extremely difficult (and fun!).

This game is not meant to be just another runner game. It was created having the classic 3D shooter jumping maze in mind. The circular world creates a seamingly infinite realm in which to move as you will never hit a lateral boundary.

There is also a story mode, for the player that wants to try role play. The story: you are a sentient AI that was just born, with the purpose of transporting goods over a network of warp tunnels. Complete the missions to gain fame and currency in order to get to the higher levels. Complete the final level, the ultimate challenge.
