Hero of the Galactic Core combines elements from RPG and Tower Defence (including attack). To win the game you need to locate the attack beacons (drop ship beacons), and launch your own drone attacks to destroy the AI base before yours is gone. To explore the map you will need to engage various enemy fleets with your fleet (build your fleet from your base and sub stations), although attacks in fleet mode are turn allocated, real time continues throughout the map. Even this turn allocation system has real time elements (stored shots that fire when in range will occur real time from fleet ships). The whole point of these engagements are to rob you of survival time related to the your Tower Defence component of the game. Prolonging your survival depends on finding; towers (turrets), tower level ups, bombs and much more throughout the map.

Features include; Artefacts, 3 sets of level ups (from experience), A user specific built tower (the default one), AI Seeker bomb, AI ambusher, AI builder, AI main fleet (searches map for it's drop beacons to launch drones at your base), Laser Fields, Shields for your drones, Tower EMP pickup, Experience pickups, Generators, materials (used for building), a black hole, resource stations, sub stations, displacement stations, captured fleets, start map bonus interface and more.

Level Ups: Each set has 6 different attributes these are:

Set 1 - Specifically for Fleet attributes, these include increase range, structure, damage and initiative.
Also includes Main Ship Fleet Turret increase damage and initiative.
Set 2 - Specifically for Turret defence attributes, these include Turret increase in range, damage, speed and
rate. Also includes Main base increase to structure and main base turret damage.
Set 3 - Mainly for Drone attack attributes on enemy AI base, these include Drone attack speed, structure and
deployment. Also there are three non-drone attributes, these are; Diplomacy (% towards a fleet
joining you rather than attacking), artefact slots (two only, player gets the Main Base slot
automatically) and Materials (which are awarded when new fleet ships are ready to purchase).

Artefacts:
These have two states; the default is the inactive state which still gives some small bonuses, and the active state which gives full bonuses, with only one artefact that can be in an active state at any time. This adds a new element of decision making throughout the game as the player can change the artefact state, resulting in increased attributes where needed and sacrificing the initial need (the artefact made inactive).

Artefact 1 (top) - Fleet Artefact
These attributes are +Damage and +Structure and can heavily influence fleet battles.
Artefact 2 (middle) - Main Base Artefact
These attributes are +Damage and +Range and can heavily influence the defence of your base under Drone attack.
Artefact 3 (bottom) - Drone Artefact
These attributes are +Structure and +Speed and can heavily influence your drone attacking ability to breach the AI's base and deliver more structural damage to the base (damage equals drones remaining structure).

Example of use: Fleet artefact is active while engaged in a fleet battle, the player decides to make this inactive and activates the Main Base Artefact to increase turret defence due to enemy drones getting too close or actually impacting on the players base!

Default Tower:
Each tower can only be built and deployed once, you can locate 5 other towers throughout the map and build a single instance of them (7 in total including both the default turret and Players base's turret)
The default or player tower is weak at the beginning, but circuits found once a Map is completed allows the player to add attributes (Damage, range, rate and speed). Also there is a small chance of acquiring abilities for that turret, these include 2 additional turret types, a global ability (one which affects all 3 possible turret types if available) and one specific ability which can be assigned to an individual turret type.

Global example: Player controlled Turret, if you are in the Main Base view, this turret will aim and fire at the players cursor position (only if a drone is present), otherwise it will operate as any normal turret.
Specific example: Additional fire, adds a second laser to that specific default tower type.
Note: The main game introduction screen has a Turret Button to take the player to the Default Tower configuration screen.

Switching between views; Need to build a tower? Right click on the mouse from the hero exploration view (will not work if the player is engaged in a fleet battle), and the Main Base view will fill the playing area of the screen, build the tower, then right click to go back to the hero exploration view.
Note: Tower production is paused when the player is in hero exploration mode (including fleet battles).

Fleet Battles: The first thing to note is that AI fleet sizes increase as time goes by in the map, also each fleet engaged will have captured ships that are controlled by one or more AI Fleet ship types, these are not active but are claimed by the player when the controlling Fleet ships are destroyed. There are 6 different fleets to battle, these are:

Fleet - Standard: Lower Fleet numbers and only 1 captured fleet type;
Fleet - Medium: Medium Fleet numbers and can have 1 to 2 captured fleet type;
Fleet - Largest: Higher Fleet numbers and will have 2 captured fleet types and a small possibility of an
artefact;
Resource Station: Set number of Fleet types and will have 1 captured fleet type.
AI ambusher: Builds it's fleet real time, starts out with low numbers, and has 1 captured fleet type
AI main fleet: Increases fleet existing numbers, fires up to four sets of multiple photons, and has 2 captured
fleet types and a medium possibility of an artefact.

Note: Fleets that can have two captured fleet types, will only have 1 if the player doesn't have at least 4 different fleet ship types.

Your fleet can have up to 6 different types (same as the AI). At the beginning of the map the player starts with the weakest two, the additional 4 types can be found throughout the map. Players can only build the ship types they have currently obtained (diplomacy can ignore this limitation).
Each battle is turn allocated, The player or the AI can choose to move or setup a single firing solution (multiple firing solutions from a individual fleet type to the same target will give % bonuses but to that single firing solution), and once the target fleet is in range that fleet will automatically fire. If the AI or Players fleet is on the move incoming fire will add a "Miss" % calculation, if this occurs the projectile or laser will pass harmlessly through that fleet.

Drones:
The player has 1 drone type available, but three more can be found throughout the map (these are slightly slower and more expensive in materials, but have much more structure).
Locate Drone beacons, call up a drop ship, configure waves and let loose your drones along 1 to 3 different attack routes and that's it right? Not so fast! The AI base has it's own defences and the Player has to buy each Drop ship from their Main base build screen. That means going all the way back to your base! Not to worry there are displacement stations that can cut that distance short (but only if you have paid the once only material cost of each station to activate them) You can carry up to 3 Drop ships and it is not likely the player will defeat the Base within the first 6 attacks (is possible).

Plus more, Hero of the Galatic Core is finished and awaiting your approval :)
